Billing and Payment Info
How Telephone Companies Bill
You will receive one comprehensive bill each month, listing several types of charges. Charges for your monthly telephone service are billed one month in advance and include charges for basic local service (i.e., line charges) and optional services (i.e., Call Waiting or 3-Way Calling). Other charges are based on the services used and are billed after use. Some services-such as local and regional toll calls, directory assistance, and operator assisted or calling card calls-are usually billed through the day before the date that appears at the top of the bill. Installation charges or changes to service are generally billed after an order is completed.

Your First Bill
The first Tri-Tel you receive will be different from the rest. Why? Certain services, along with optional features, are billed in advance (such as line charges or Call Waiting), while others are billed after usage (such as local calls). For this reason, the Optional Products and Services portion of your first bill may be higher than normal. The reason for this is because the first bill is not billed in advance; it's higher because it acts as a one-time, partial month "catch-up". In doing so, it brings you up to speed to your regular billing cycle. You will notice a credit on your final bill from your previous phone company. This offsets the one-time "catch-up" portion on your first Tri-Tel bill.

Your Regular Bill
Your regular Tri-Tel bill will include your normal monthly service charges in advance for the next month, as well as your usage charges for the prior month. Don't be surprised if your bill puts a smile on your face! When comparing your regular month Tri-Tel bill with your previous phone company's regular monthly bill, you'll find that Tri-Tel saves you at least 10 percent - and up to 23 percent!
