       CALL WAITING

HOW IT WORKS

When you hear a beep, press the switch-hook, or press "Flash" if your phone has that button.  This puts the original call on hold, and you can speak to the new caller.  If you want to speak to the original caller again, press the switch-hook, or hit the "Flash" button again.  You can flip between calls as many times as you want. If someone else calls you when all three are connected, that caller will get a busy signal.  You cannot turn the call into a three-way call.   You can only talk to one person at a time.  If you have two parties connected and forget that one of them is still on the other line, if you hang up the phone it will ring, and the other party will be on the phone.

If you do not press the switch-hook or "Flash" button, the tone will sound every ten seconds until incoming caller hangs up.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem: Line is busy.

Question: Do callers get a busy signal all the time, or just when your are connected to two callers at once?

Solution: Call Waiting can only support two callers at once. If you have Voice Mail, the 3rd person calling would be able to leave a message. If you don't have Voice Mail, the 3rd person calling will get a busy signal.
